Are these friends worth it?

I'd be insulted if I were in the same spot as your friends... You basically called them dumb right in their faces. Own up to your own mistake and apologize, if they accept your apology then they are friends worth keeping. They probably talked about you behind your back just for spite. And for the record you started the fight by saying that their grade isn't good enough...
