How do YOU interpret Synchronicity II by The Police?

I always thought it meant a man slowly cracking up, he's on the verge of doing something. Maybe gong postal at work or killing his family. The monster in the lake is mirroring this madness as it slowly works it way out of the lake. At least that's my interpretation of it!!
