Visitor's Visa - overstayed as a dumb teenager and really regretting it now!!?
I'm a UK citizen and 5 years ago I overstayed my US visitor's visa by almost a year. I could give you excuses - I was young, I was arguing with my family and didn't want to come home, etc. I've regretted my decision not to leave ever since. I want to go to LA with my boyfriend in July for a vacation but I'm scared of being deported when we get there. I haven't attempted to enter the US since I left 5 years ago and they didn't approach me when I was leaving. I've since worked in Canada legally for 3 years and had like two new pports since leaving, and I'm obviously settled in the UK with every intention of coming back, is there a chance they could haul up a record of me at the border? I didn't hand in my waiver form when I left because I had lost it, and again nothing was said. I don't know what to do. I know I was in the wrong but I am literally scared of the immigration officers and would be mortified if they sent me packing with my boyfriend in tow! Any help greatly appreciated
